Relocating to Southern Ohio

Moving to a place you do not know yet is a lot to manage, especially from a distance. I am Rebecca DeLawder, a REALTOR with ERA Real Solutions Realty and a Military Relocation Professional (MRP), and helping people relocate to Southern Ohio is the heart of what I do. I was born in Lawrence County and raised in Pike, so the area you are moving to is the area I know by heart.

Why people are moving to Southern Ohio

Southern Ohio is entering a period of real growth. The projects making headlines sit at the former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant (PORTS) site near Piketon: public reporting has described a major SB Energy data center campus backed by roughly $33 billion in new natural gas generation, a project that broke ground in March 2026, plus a planned 1.2 gigawatt Oklo nuclear campus and an ongoing enrichment expansion by Centrus, with additional data center proposals in Scioto County. Together these projects are expected to bring thousands of construction jobs and a wave of permanent positions, and public reporting notes that many of those workers will relocate from out of state. But the headline projects are only part of the move-in. Teachers, hospital staff, tradespeople, and people coming back home relocate to Southern Ohio every year. Whether you're relocating because of one of these major projects, a new job, or simply a change in life, I'm a local REALTOR who can help you find the right home and get settled in Southern Ohio.

How a long-distance home search works with me

You should not have to fly in five times to buy a house. For out-of-area buyers I run detailed video tours and virtual walkthroughs, the honest kind that show you the low spot in the yard and the room that photographs bigger than it is, so you can narrow your list before you travel. When you are ready to visit, we make the trip count. I will also help you compare commute times, price ranges, and the kinds of homes each area offers, and point you to public resources for details like school ratings so you can weigh what matters most to you.

The counties I serve

I work across Pike, Scioto, Ross, Jackson, and Adams counties, with towns including Waverly, Piketon, Portsmouth, Lucasville, Jackson, West Union, and Peebles. Wherever you are landing in Southern Ohio, I can help.

Relocating a team, or handling relocations for an employer?

If you manage relocations for a company bringing people into the region, I would welcome the chance to be your local resource on the ground. Out-of-town relocation services rarely know these communities the way someone from here does, and I can help your people settle in faster.
