The projects making headlines sit at the former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant (PORTS) site near Piketon: public reporting has described a major SB Energy data center campus backed by roughly $33 billion in new natural gas generation, a project that broke ground in March 2026, plus a planned 1.2 gigawatt Oklo nuclear campus and an ongoing enrichment expansion by Centrus, with additional data center proposals in Scioto County.
